Line and Frame

Rule of 3rds and Balance Reflection Questions

A. A 19/20 because I submitted extra photos.

This image is an example of rule of thirds because the subject is not in the middle and the quality of light is direct because you can see the shadows.

This image is an example of symmetrical because if it were cut in half it would be almost the exact same on both sides and the quality of light is direct because you can see the details in the building.

This image is an example of asymmetrical because if it were cut in half, it wouldn’t be identical on each side and the quality of light is direct because you see shadows.

2. The two main tools I used to edit these photos were the crop tool to straighten the photos out and the exposure tool to make the lighting look better.

3. I actually feel that I used my time wisely because I finished my assignment on time and even got extra photos to turn in.

Composition

Composition in photography means the way things sum up in the frame of a picture to create the final product.

This is an example of symmetrical composition because both sides nearly identical, except for a few minor details.

The quality of light is direct because we can see small details, such as patterns and the creases on the pumpkins.

This is an example of symmetrical composition because if the image was folded in half, it would look almost exactly the same.

The quality of light is direct because the monkey is seen squinting, also we see small details around his face.

This is an example of asymmetrical composition because although there is not an even number of football players on each side, it still balances out.

The quality of light is soft light because the football player’s skin looks mostly smooth.

This is an example of asymmetrical composition because the car and the ones surrounding it aren’t perfectly symmetrical, but it still balances out.

The quality of light is direct because the lady in the back appears to be making a scrunched up face from the sun and we see the obvious shadows from the cars.

This is an example of rule of thirds because the subject is the female sitting and she is clearly not in the middle of the photograph.

Direct, soft, silhouette

 This is an example of soft light because her face is relaxed and we don’t see any pores, wrinkles, etc. This is another example of soft light because she is under a form of shade and her face is relaxed.  This is an example of silhouette light because we can the figure’s body but the photo is more based on the background.TThis is an example of direct light  because this man appears to be squinting and we can see small details in his face.    This is an example of direct light because we can see tiny details all around this man’s face.This is an example of silhouette light because we can see people’s bodies but are mostly focused on the background.
