Project: Free for all

Why did you choose this photograph/what makes it successful?: I think the uniqueness of this photo is what makes it successful. I like how you can zoom in and each little part of the image looks like something different, paint or water or the galaxy for example.

What did you learn or practice while creating this image?: I practiced taking portraits with something else added to them to see what would happen.

Why did you choose this photograph/what makes it successful?: I chose this photo because I like the angle of her face, the accessories and just the overall image.

What did you learn or practice while creating this image?: I practiced capturing the right moment as Julieta was talking and yelling at our friends to calm down and I’m surprised I caught a calm look in such a chaotic moment.

Project: Studio

Why did you choose this photograph/what makes it successful?: I chose this photo because it reminds me of a very specific lyric and I enjoy when an image can do that. I think the high contrasting velvet, the way the material falls and how it creates movement in the image is why this photo is successful.

What did you learn or practice while creating this image?: I practiced how to use the studio lights to create the feathering on the material as well as learning how to capture movement in the studio.

Why did you choose this photograph/what makes it successful?: I chose this photo because I love the overall vibe of it. I think the in focus piece of the sky over Javier’s eye is one of the things that makes it successful. The angle as well.

What did you learn or practice while creating this image?: I practiced my Photoshop skills when trying to keep the palm tree from coming out of his head.
